Happy New Year!
Hi all,
I hope you all had fun bringing in the new year! As per tradition, I was with my fellow SYMS alumni. I thiink this is the sixth year in a row that we have gotten together to celebrate, and while this year was significantly less eventful than last (Jesse and Adam got engaged, it's kind of tough to beat that), it was still pleasant to be around the group. Sadly, there weren't quite as many people as anticipated, but that happens when everyone's all over the Northeast.
Anyway... reflecting on the year: Umm, yeah. I won't lie, 2009 sucked for the most part, with few exceptions. The only really big fantastic thing that I can think of (at this very moment) was being in Manhattan and playing in Carnegie Hall.
I moved into and out of my first apartment, which was a valuable experience. On my very last day student-teaching, the power-steering on my car blew. So, I've got a new car, and I've named him Mr. T. Stupid, I know, but it suits.
First big change for this year is that I'm formally dropping out of UNH in a couple of days, unless of course they allow me to take a leave of absence due to mental health. That's looking doubtful, because those are granted for academic purposes only.
Second, I've moved back in with my parents, fully. Thank God for them, because they are doing everything they possibly can to make this an okay transition. I've got practically my own studio apartment in the basement, and finally! A full-size mattress on which to sleep. They gave up their pool table room so that I could have a bit of privacy and space, and that's... amazing of them. You could fit
two of my old room into this.
My New Year's Resolution isn't quite a resolution, but whatever:
Everything I do is going towards making 2011 a good year, and more importantly, 24 a great age.
I've got 411 days to go, let's see how I do.
